  Die Mongolen in der Makushita hatten alle annehmbare bis gute Ergebnisse. Ryuo steigt mit 4-3 in die Juryo auf, Koryu hatte ein 5-2 auf Ms9 mit Siegen über Sawai und Wakakosho. Hakuba hatte auf seinem bisher höchsten Rang als Ms2 ein knappes mk mit 3-4, Tamawashi 4-3, Daiki 3-4 auf seinem bisher höchsten Rang (Ms36) und Taika mit 5-2 komplettieren dieses recht erfolgreiche Basho für Rikishi aus der Mongolei.

Auffällig war auch noch Hokutokuni, der ähnlich kämpft, wie sein Heya-Kollege Hokutoriki. Er erreichte in seinem zweiten Makushita-
Basho ein 5-2 mit seinem üblichen explosiven tsuki-Sumo.

Um die Makushita zu Ende zu bringen, will ich noch einen Blick auf die Rikishi ganz oben werfen. Der wohl verletzte Daishodai, hatte ein weiteres mk mit 3-4. Ein unangenehmes Resultat, wenn man bedenkt, dass er noch zum Hatsu Basho
2006 auf J1 stand. Kirinowaka auf Ms3 erreichte nach drei 5-2 ein bemerkenswertes 4-3. Kotoyutaka schafft diesmal nur ein 2-5, was aber für ihn keine Katastrophe ist auf Ms4. Takamifuji übernimmt anscheinend Hochiyamas Rolle als Rikishi, der es wohl nie zum Sekitori schafft. Ein 3-4 als Ms4 schließt nahtlos an seine bisherigen Ergebnisse auf diesen Rängen an.

In der Sandanme kommt es meist zu einem interessanten Aufeinandertreffen aufstei-
gender Hoffnungs-Rikishi und abgestiegener Rikishi, die schon bessere Tage gesehen haben. Diesmal war Maikaze, der ja schon Juryo-Erfahrung hat, der Überraschungssieger, nachdem er letztes Mal sogar in der Sandanme noch ein 2-5 erzielt hatte. Fujimoto (19) hat sich letztes Mal beklagt, dass er wohl zu sehr nachdenkt bei den Kämpfen. Diesmal hat er offenbar weniger gedacht und mehr gekämpft, also hat er sich mit einem 6-1 wohl seinen
ersten Aufstieg in die Makushita erkämpft. Ebenfalls aufsteigen wird der 20-jährige Fukunaga (Sakaigawa-Beya), der mit einem 6-1 den sofortigen Wiederaufstieg in die Makushita schaffte.

Yusho, aber beide schafften nur ein 4-3 mit teilweise recht
