CT : Après le succès des Championnats du Monde Juniors de 2006 à Rakvere, j’ai cru comprendre que vous avez d’excellentes nouvelles ? RR : Oui, Rakvere organisera les Championnats du Monde d’amasumo en 2008 ! CT : Vous devez être ravi RR : Oui, c’est une grande réussite pour Rakvere, qui est une ville qui ne compte que 18000 habitants. Nous n’avons pas de date ferme, mais je pense que ce sera quelque part en octobre, et nous espérons que Kaido et son oyakata pourront être invités d’honneur. Rakvere a un nouveau palais des sports de 3000 places et nous construisons actuellement un hôtel et une station thermale. Bien entendu, le problème principal reste le sponsoring, puisque les sociétés allouent

leurs fonds un an à l’avance, donc nous devons tout de suite nous pencher sur la question. Nous n’avons aucun soutien de l’Etat, bien que le Comité Olympique Estonien ait pris en charge le contrôle antidopage en 2006 et j’espère nous aidera en 2008, bien qu’il y aura bien plus de compétiteurs. Nous sommes intéressés par toutes les bonnes volontés prêtes à nous aider. CT : Et qu’en est-il du futur du sumo en Estonie ? Comment voyez-vous son développement ? RR : J’aimerais voir tous les styles de lutte en Estonie, dont le sumo, se rassembler sous la bannière de l’Association Estonienne de Sumo, pour que nous parvenions à une certaine cohérence. J’attends aussi le développement d’évènements à caractère mondial pour attirer les fans et nous permettre de nous

développer. J’espère beaucoup en les Championnats de Rakvere pour cela. CT : Pour finir, de notre perchoir d’Osaka, qui supportez vous ici (en dehors de Baruto) ?
