Hakuho faces off against Tamanoshima on Day 10. Hakuho struggled at the beginning of the basho with a four-bout losing streak, but came back to make his second kachi-koshi as sekiwake with 9-6. Hakuho continues to justify the high expectations placed upon him, and seems to have achieved staying power among the sanyaku.
