Battered veteran Kotonowaka (37) grapples with Tokitsuumi on Day 10 to defeat him by uwatenage. On Day 9, Kotonowaka threw Aminishiki with a left uwatenage as Aminishiki executed a right shitatenage. As they toppled over together, Kotonowaka's discipline prevented him from breaking the fall with his hand and took the full impact of the fall with his face. The gyoji called the bout for Aminishiki, but a mono-ii ruled that Aminishiki's hair touched first.
