idéale pour atteindre la juryo lors du Natsu basho. Son compère de heya, Kirinowaka, empile également des 5-2 consécutifs en makushita et sera également très proches de la juryo lors du Natsu. Ce peut être une situation optimale pour leur rivalité puisque tous deux sont du même âge. Donc, ils peuvent toujours se motiver l’un l’autre dans des séances appliquées de keiko, ce qui devrait les emmener tous deux en juryo après le Natsu. Kirinowaka a également affronté bien des adversaires qui étaient ce que la makushita peut offrir de meilleur, ses scalps les plus conséquents

Globalement, la Michinoku‑beya a connu un basho décevant avec ses trois sekitori chutant lourdement avec de gros make-koshi. Toutefois, le duo Hakuba (Ms9) et Kirinowaka (Ms6), 22 ans tous les deux, poursuivent leur étourdissante montée vers les juryo. Les trois ans de stagnation d’Hakuba en makushita ont pris fin sur un inexplicable 18-3 en trois basho.
