Tochiozan and Kakuryu both made their sanyaku debut in May 2009 and have a career highest rank of sekiwake.
Both show signs of being able to hold their own in this region of the banzuke; in the recent Aki Basho,
each beat three ozeki. Tochiozan was making his sekiwake debut and finished on an excellent score of 11-4.
Kakuryu was in his third basho at komusubi and notched up his second 9-6 score at this rank.
Baruto has gone one stage further and achieved ozeki promotion, a feat that the other two may
be able to emulate, given enough hard work and application.
