Tosanoumi, who has spent 20 basho in the sanyaku ranks, has in recent times made three
visits back to juryo division, the most recent in the Haru Basho when he achieved a
10-5 record, sufficient for an immediate return to makuuchi.
Otsukasa on the other hand is a veteran of the banzuke elevator, with 11 promotions to
makuuchi division to his name, making him the third most promoted rikishi in the modern era.
With a 5-10 record in the Haru Basho, he is destined to rejoin the juryo ranks.
