Toyonoshima at 169 cm and Ozeki Kotooshu at 202 cm are at the height extremes for makuuchi rikishi.
Despite his vastly superior reach and his elevated rank, Kotooshu has had difficulty imposing himself
on Toyonoshima, whose short stature coupled with his fighting spirit make him difficult to tackle.
Their head-to-head record from debut is 6-4 in favour of Toyonoshima.
