possible time making this French-written magazine now much more easily accessible by the English-speaking community.

That said, while our readers come from all walks of life and corners of the globe, “Le Monde du Sumo ” is specifically sent bi-monthly to the most famous of French sumo fans: French President Jacques Chirac. MDS founding member Nicolas Schuler had the great honour of

being invited by President Chirac to accompany him on his latest official visit to Japan in March 2005, a visit that included tickets to Day 14 of the ongoing Haru Basho and an unforgettable dinner with Asashoryu, Kotooshu and Iwakiyama among others.

Now in its second year, “Le Monde du Sumo ” is increasing in reputation as it is known to several French journalists, who contact the magazine as and

when they need information on the sport.

Le Monde du Sumo ” and “Le Petit Banzuke Illustré ” can be downloaded at no charge from the magazine site www.lemondedusumo.com , as PDF files. Most of the articles are translated for “Le Monde Du Sumo in English”, and are available as Internet pages on the magazine site as soon as they are translated.
